Washington, DC [RESULTS]

It was a small group in D.C. today, and there was a little rain, but we had fun all the same. Our plan was to check out the new streetcar on H Street, which just opened this year (and which I hadn't had a chance to ride yet). But it was raining when we arrived at H Street, so we took shelter in the ...

Re: Washington, DC

The plan is to meet at the western terminus of the streetcar on H street, just north of Union Station, at 11am, and then head east from there. If there are any latecomers, look for people with sketchbooks on H street.

Washington, DC

Anyone up for sketching in D.C.?

We're thinking of going to the H Street corridor, to check out the new streetcar, or possibly the gardens at Dumbarton Oaks, but are open for suggestions.

Re: Washington, DC

I won't be able to come on Saturday, but if anyone is sketching on Sunday, I could probably join in the afternoon.

Washington, D.C., U.S.A. [RESULTS]

We had a small turnout today in D.C. - perhaps in part because it was cool and somewhat grey, but that did not deter all of us. Christian and I met in the morning at Meridian Hill Park in NW DC. The park features a large fountain that cascades down several levels, as well as a monument to President ...

Washington, D.C., U.S.A.

Anyone interested in sketching in D.C.? Some previous suggestions that I don't think we've done yet: - Georgetown (we could meet at Foggy Bottom and walk, or take the Circulator) - The Arboretum might be nice this time of year (there's a bus from Stadium/Armory) - U Street / Meridian Hill Park Any o...

Re: Fredericksburg VA USA [RESULTS]

It was great to meet both of you, Paula and Casey. I started off with a warm-up sketch of a fire hydrant outside Hyperion Espresso (with a latte in hand): https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7411/16414327435_632677f7a4.jpg And here is the coffee shop itself, from across the street (one of those figures o...

Washington, DC [RESULTS]

The D.C. group, due to conflicting schedules, met on both Saturday and Sunday, since no one time worked for everyone. There was apparently a good turnout on both days. I joined the group on Sunday afternoon, since I was one of the people with a conflict on Saturday. We met at Eastern Market - a publ...

I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think I might be able to make it on Sunday, though I may be late.

Washington D.C. [Results]

The D.C. sketchcrawl group met on Sunday morning, because that date worked better for most people's schedules than Saturday. We met at the Old Post Office on Pennsylvania Avenue, because it has an enclosed atrium that would give us a place to sketch protected from the weather. I cheated a little and...

The D.C. sketchers met at the Maine Avenue Fish Market in southwest. We found a lot of interesting subjects to sketch there: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5476/10380443416_9936354dd8.jpg http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2858/10380416915_7560044c2a_n.jpg http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2825/10380443106_b0...

I also attended the Symposium - so while I normally join the Sketchcrawl in Washington, D.C., this time I sketched in Barcelona. I joined the group in Parc de la Ciutadella in the afternoon: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7432/9325289092_2f2dbf7461.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3680/9322496935_87...

The Washington D.C. group met at the Tidal Basin, where the cherry blossoms are in bloom right now. I sketched the Jefferson Memorial, the King memorial, and the Breadline sculpture at the FDR memorial. Yes, people fish in the Tidal Basin. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8387/8648760606_f5c9bea390.jpg...
