Re: Los Angeles, CA, USA [Result]
Beautiful work, everyone. Sorry I missed out. That area has some great sketch-worthy stuff and I have never seen the inside of the Bradbury building (except in Bladerunner — and now in your sketches). Nice work! Hope to catch up with you all next time.

Thanks for your nice comments, sketchcrawl friends. Alina, aka Ice-Cream Monster, I'm sorry we missed each other, too. I love your sketches. Jim, aka storydesign, thanks for sharing your sketch and photo (with your friend Paul's sketch) of the subject. Jazz Bakery is a cool spot and I live close to ...

Los Angeles - California - USA [RESULTS]
Los Angeles crawlers! Post your sketches here and tell about your experience. Here's my story: I arrived at Lake Balboa Park in Anthony C. Beilenson Park (aka Balboa Park) in the city of Van Nuys (greater L.A. area). There was some mention in the forum of Descanso Garden, which I thought was another...

Those samples of custom moleskines are great. I think I'm in favor of a simple emboss, no ink. Though maybe a dark gray ink or a color just a shade lighter than the black moleskine, to make it stand out a touch more. Sketchcrawl logo on the front, toward the bottom right corner? A tagline or brief m...

Okay, cool!
See you guys there around 10:30 at the children's play area. Alina, I think you're right for whatever reason it makes sense to leave it as an "L.A." crawl if that seems to work for everyone. Also, the last crawl I went to in San Francisco, we met at 11 am and then all met back up in the sa...

Well, now I'm a bit torn between Descanso Garden and Echo Park. It sounds like Echo Park could work out for a couple people... I think, though, that my vote is for cherry blossoms, since this will be the only opportunity to see them in their full or just-immediately-post-full glory. Echo Park will b...

My personal preference is for the larger size sketchbook , not the journal with the thinner paper and not the reporter style. I don't know if I would buy the watercolor version or not, but I would also prefer the larger size in that case. Most likely, I would just buy two sketchbooks, instead of one...

Well, for the sake of discussion and why the hell not, I'll suggest Echo Park. For one, it is actually within the city limits (the technical side of my brain thinks a crawl in Van Nuys should be labeled as such, and not as a Los Angeles crawl). Echo Park neighborhood is a more urban choice, but ther...

ere's another post on that blog you linked to, Alina. Minus the pictures, but with a little more info: http://laparks.blogspot.com/2008/03/spring-has-sprung-early-in-valley.html It states peak viewing time is until march 16, but I would think the following weekend should be good, too. More petals on...

Hi guys! I think I'll be in L.A. for this one. Last time I went to San Francisco. That lake looks lovely. Didn't know about that place. Seems like a pleasant enough way to spend a Saturday, so I'm game. Maybe my fiancée will be interested in coming along, too. One thing is I would like to draw pe...

Wow! Amazing sketches from everyone! Some terrific character work here and observations. Enrico! Yes, try to get Bolhem to post if you can. His stuff was very inspiring. Well, I've finally gotten my sketchcrawl results scanned. I didn't draw too many people on this day, but mostly seemed to focus on...
