Re: San Francisco, CA USA

For the colors, busy sidewalks, shop windows and signs, I vote for Chinatown.

I've been to several Sketchcrawls in LA, one in SF. This will be my first since moving to Mountain View last month.

Los Angeles, California, USA [RESULTS]

The Burbank Arts Festival was a rich spot for sketching, and also for being distracted. Maybe I'm not the only one who zoned in on John Tucker modelling instead of sketching the event. http://files.joveyol.me/c/drawings/sketchcrawl-2013-04-13/IMG_0002_web.jpg http://files.joveyol.me/c/drawings/sketc...

Re: Los Angeles, CA (results)

Nice drawings, everyone. I didn't quite realize how little I actually drew on this one. During the three and a quarter hours I was downtown, I managed to eat an Irish burrito, a crepe, and I got some groceries. So it wasn't a total waste. Back to basics! http://files.joveyol.me/pictures/sketchcrawl_...

Re: Los Angeles, CA?

Also, less historic but good for people watching (maybe not on a cool, windy day), is the garden and staircase across the street from the library on 5th. The grand central market's always great, even without crowds. I got Villpu's "sketching on location" manual at CTNx. I'll be looking thr...

Re: Los Angeles, CA USA

Awesome stuff, everyone. I really slacked off on this one, playing with my dog and waiting for inspiration. Still glad I came, though. http://files.joveyol.me/christopher/drawings/sketchcrawl_37_la_01.jpg http://files.joveyol.me/christopher/drawings/sketchcrawl_37_la_02.jpg http://files.joveyol.me/c...

Re: Los Angeles, CA SketchCrawl

Had some fun at this one, and I don't think it was any poorer for being such a small group. Good to see you guys again. http://files.chrislovejoy.com/pictures/sketchcrawl_36_LA/IMG_0000_web_thumb.jpg http://files.chrislovejoy.com/pictures/sketchcrawl_36_LA/IMG_0001_web_thumb.jpg http://files.chrislo...

Re: Los Angeles, CA

Walking distance from my house! I'll definitely be there. I'll probably head to Chinatown after: less that a mile away, or one stop on the Gold line from Union Station.

Re: Los Angeles, California USA [Results]

I arrived a little late to the crawl, but I got to see some characters on my way. Descanso Gardens was a pretty rich location for all sorts of subjects, and the Oktoberfest was a nice surprise, if a little tame; all the better for conversation, though. http://journal.chrislovejoy.com/wp-content/uplo...

Re: Los Angeles, California [USA]

I'll be there. I'm glad I marked my calendar, since all month I never got around to visiting the forum. I'm happy about the choice of locale. It's ben a long time since I've been to Descanso Gardens, so it'll be like new.

Se y'all there.

Re: Los Angeles, CA

I have four passes for the LA Zoo. I can share with anyone at the gate within, say, ten minutes of the arranged time (10:00, if that's what we settle on).
