Re: London, UK

They're actually forecasting HEAVY RAIN (and wind!) tomorrow - see BBC weather forecast for London http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/8?&search=london&itemsPerPage=10&region=uk An indoor venue like the National Gallery sounds like a really good idea. Sketching stools are available fr...

I have friends coming down to see the exhibition by the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours at the Mall Galleries on Saturday 29th - so I've suggested we try and do a mini sketchcrawl around that area - which is St James Park, the Mall (distant glimpses of Buck House) and Trafalgar Square - ...

I said No - but purely because you are listing the smaller notebook size. The small notebook size is too small for me. I only ever use the Large Sketchbook size which is 5.25 x 8.25" (13 x 21 cm) I'm just wondering whether other people are clear about which size they are saying 'Yes' to? Maybe ...

Wow - that birdhouse is something else

I think you did very well for a first sketchcrawl. I also think you'll find quite a few people don't manage to dedicate that much time to it given other commitments at a weekend - so well done on that score as well.

I love the sketches of people sketching. It always surprises me that there aren't more like that on a sketchcrawl!

I've sketched holding an umbrella with one hand and a pencil in the other and all the time hoping that my sketchbook did not slip off my knee - you have my sympathies!

You're right about the tree and the iron rods - very intriguing and most incongruous.

I've got a whole page on my website dedicated to advice about sketching - and some of this is about coloured pencils - but I think I've still to do the definitive blog post about hatching! The main thing is to keep the hatching open so you can layer different colours and create some optical colour m...

I decided to sketch at sites along the Prime Meridien in London - but didn't plan on having a puncture which curtailed activities pdq. I got one sketch done though - sitting on the top of the hill in Greenwich Hill - looking down the meridien to what was the Dome and is now the O2 Arena. http://farm...

That's a really nice and funny banner. Great to see the other sketches and photos too. I've featured your banner in my blog post about the sketchcrawl ( http://makingamark.blogspot.com/2007/08/15th-worldwide-sketchcrawl-results.html )- please let me know if that's not OK and I'll take it down.
