Re: ATLANTA, GA USA
Excited to see your message. How about you pick a place and time? If I'm in town I'll be there. In the past we've sketched several times in downtown Decatur and once on Emory's campus, though only 2 people showed up to the one on Emory's campus. It wasn't a good day anyway; the entrances to the camp...

That sounds like an absolutely wonderful time - cabin, breakfast, national forest. Beautiful sketches with beautiful colors. They really evoke the feeling of the place. Thanks for sharing them - and for reaching out.

http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3700/9281454560_5a4d4c8c98.jpg Scott Boulevard Baptist Church on Flickr Plein Jane in New Mexico sent a heartwarming note to check up on the Atlanta sketchcrawl. She crawled solo, and, even though I didn't think of what I did as a real crawl because I didn't set a meet...

Great to see your enthusiastic group, with 4 (!) newcomers in spite of the rain and people of various ages coming together to do this. It's a delight to see so many sketches resulting from your crawl, and they're wonderful to look at.

Since nobody has replied and there's a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow, the Atlanta sketchcrawl is postponed for a week.
I plan to sketch here on Saturday the 20th: http://www.batlevent.org/history.html
Reply if you would like to set a meeting time.

Where do we want to meet for the Atlanta crawl? Last time we talked about possibly going to the Yellow River Game Ranch near Stone Mountain. I'd also like to sketch at Stone Mountain Park some time; it's such a quirky mix of nature preserve, theme park, and Confederate memorial. Tom J., who showed u...

Re: Atlanta / Decatur, GA [Results]
Tom and Erling, it was interesting to see your setups, the boxes you had contrived for location sketching with oils or quill pen. Glad to meet you all, and, Tom, I hope that next time you'll join us for lunch as well as sketching. I guess Sushi Avenue sounded too weird for someone who hasn't had sus...

I didn't move from the meeting place, doing this sketch while sitting at the base of the Celebration statue. Judging from the pictures from last year's crawl at this site, I've gotten better, but the tree has gotten worse. Last April it had leaves. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8521/8645918707_4eb68...

Looks like a great place for a sketchcrawl. Nice reflections on the Crystal Bridge, and the colors in that variegated plant are remarkable.
Glad you weren't discouraged that you were the only one on site. Really, you were sketching with people from around the world.

Will, I don't remember exactly how many you did, but I thought you did more than that, so don't hold anything back because they were beautiful. And tell Anna that she is required to post hers. She got a good view of the scene inside the church, showing the architecture and the audience, and hers sum...

Four of us met at the Martin Luther King Historic Site for the Atlanta sketchcrawl. I came early and had to leave early, so I suppose it's appropriate that I post first. Yet again, I didn't get a chance to watch Erling use his homemade oil sketch kit. Looking forward to seeing here what everyone els...

Glad Will is coming! I was going to reply and say that 11:00 was perfect for me, but I just found out I have to go somewhere in the afternoon and will have to leave around 1:00. So I'll come early, maybe around 9:30, and will see you when you get there at 11:00. I plan to be sitting on a camp stool ...

Erling (or anyone else), how about you propose a time to meet? Any time is good for me.

I'm looking forward to SketchCrawl #38.
I'm suggesting the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site for the crawl. On the weekend of King's birthday, let's show the world the places associated with Atlanta's most famous citizen. Or do you think there might be parking issues, etc. that weekend?

Thanks! Now I just have to find enough courage to carry a bottle of ink in my kit.
