Thanks Enrico and Emma! I'm really itching to do some more short-term, gestural poses, but for now it looks like it'll be longer studies studies for a while... here's another one from last week

A few long-term figure drawings

Hi all, Here's some longer term life drawings from this week - the first two are both 20 minuters and the bottom one is a 2-hour study. Sorry about the quality of the images, unfortunately my scanner's only A4, so photos had to suffice. I don't know, maybe it gives it an old-fashioned sepia look, wh...

Life Drawing and some animal sketches

Finally got back to life drawing last Tuesday after several months away from it. A little rusty, but it feels great to put graphite to paper after so long :) Here are a few of what resulted, mostly 5 minuters that night. http://andywakeley.com/images/lifedrawing_11-04-06_001.jpg http://andywakeley.c...

Sketchcrawl Brisbane, Australia

Hey all!
If you're in or around Brisbane on April 22nd, let's meet up for a day of sketching in the city. The weather's cooled down a bit so it should be great for wandering through South Bank and Roma Street Parkland, pencils and watercolours in hand!

Sketchcrawl in Brisbane

I'll be in the city sketching next weekend in the hot summer sun, so anyone keen to join me is most welcome to come along! I'll likely start at the art college at Southbank, and from there, who knows!

Thanks for the comments! James: Yeah it was great trying to draw the kids at the beach as they messed around in the sand - they don't hold still for long :) FAB: It was really a great day to sketch beach-goers. Kodak beach is actually a man-made one in a big recreational area called Southbank in the...
