Where to meet

Okay everybody, here's the plan: - The venue will be the 4th Street district in Berkeley - We will meet at 11:00 am on the Southwest corner of 4th St and Hearst Ave., which is here . Note that University Ave. goes _over_ 4th Street, so you'll need to turn on 6th Street if you are coming from the fre...

Where to Crawl?

OK gang, we need to firm up our plans for Saturday! Any other locations to consider besides Fourth Street? Should we start at 11:00 and have our final meetup at 3:00?

Berkeley / East Bay

I plan to crawl in Berkeley this time around. Care to join me?

Last time, we had a blast! We crawled on the UCB campus, so maybe this time we should try a new location?

One idea is the Fourth Street area (restaurants, shops, buildings, people). Any others?

What a great day, and a big crowd! I hooked up with fellow sketchblogger Jana Bouc , who I hadn't met in person before, and we crawled together. We walked over 4 miles by my calculation. Here are my sketches: http://www.trumpetvine.com/hosted_images/sc14/sc14_fil_med.jpg On the Filbert Steps http://...

What a day! Fabulous weather and a great group of friendly sketchers. I had forgotten how nice the Berkeley campus can be. http://www.trumpetvine.com/hosted_images/sc13/sc13_cam_sm.jpg http://www.trumpetvine.com/hosted_images/sc13/sc13_ter_sm.jpg http://www.trumpetvine.com/hosted_images/sc13/sc13_ls...

11:00am at University and Oxford sounds good.

There are 2 brewpubs in downtown Berkeley:

And of course, plenty of cafes as well.

Zachary's Pizza is yummy but generally packed, so might not be ideal, especially if we have a large group.

We might want to meet on the grass on campus somewhere, or if we end up in North Berkeley, at Live Oak Park.

Emma: The Fourth Street area is 1-3 blocks north of University. It's got a bunch of upscale (for Berkeley) stores (including http://www.castleintheair.biz/ an arty place), is interesting looking, and has lots of sketching opportunities. You should definitely check it out while you're in Berkeley. It...

Wow - a real SketchCrawl book; that's a great idea. It's such an amazing phenomena. I think people would love to read about how it started, how it's grown, people doing it all over the world, etc. And sketches, of course!
