The opposite, I commute to Emeryville, the drive is not that bad, once you get use to it, or once you get creative like this little project. I think once they are done with the Hwy 101 - San Rafael/Richmond Bridge junction it's going to be a lot better. Time? depends on traffic, anywhere from 1 1/2 ...

What other interesting places are there? Is the Japanese tea garden open to sketchers? specially a large group? or is that too far from everything else? one website mentions its on the Golden Gate park... ah I see.. I guess there is quite a bit to look at... I have only been to the two museums there...

Linux Expo - SF mini sketchcrawl sometime after lunch?

Hi,

Looks like I will be attending the Linux Expo in SF on 8/4 Wednesday, I thought I would check and see if any techie crawlers were going to be there too. Figured I would check out the Expo for a while and do some sketching around there after lunch

Commute and non commute sketches

I have been meaning to sketch one or two locations I pass during commute, then it occurred to me, since I have a 60mile commute, why not stop every so many miles and sketch whatever happens to be there. Paper and pencil mostly and some pen. Recently purchased one of those small watercolor kits w/ a couple of Niji watercolor pens.
It has been a while since I last sketch/draw. Sketchcrawl was my turning point :)

Very Nice, they are also a reminder for the rest of us to create something daily. Some questions: How long does it take you to finish one of these drawings? and what program are you using? Painter? Are you lucky enough to use a Cintiq or you use the traditional tablet (wacom) and regular monitor (cr...

A book to get you past the fear :)

I don't remember exactly what commentary/book I was viewing/reading but Robert Rodriguez (SpyKids, SinCity, etc) recommended this book as a tool to get past the fear of 'finishing' or getting started for that matter. Art & Fear Observations On the Perils (and Rewards) of Artmaking David Bayles &...

Thank you for the Ferry Tip. Due to time constraints I was not able to make use of that solution. However, I found out that 'all day' parking at the parking lot on Union and Front was only $6.00 on weekends.

Greetings:

I just found out about this event, I will see about attending. If I can I will be driving from Sonoma County. Any tips on parking lots? I may only be able to attend until 1-3pm.

Thanks
