So ... where should we meet ?? Any museums or interesting exhibitions you've seen lately ?

Here are a few options:

-Embarcadero, farmers market and soma ...
-Moma and Metreon ...
-Civic Center and Asian Art museum
-the Mission
-n-juda hopper (from Embarcadero to Ocean beach?)

any other ideas ? Votes ?

let me know ...

gonna be fun

All of those sound so fun!

Depending on the weather, I recommend we walk through Golden Gate Park to the Beach! (Basically the N-Judah hopper). Seems like there'd be people doing a lot of different activities!

How about through Chinatown, over through North Beach, then on to the Cannery and finish up at Aquatic Park in front of Ghiradelli Square?

chinatown -- anyone else?

gypsy13a,

i like the chinatown idea. there's great architecture out there and it's unique to san francisco! :D

Yeah, I'll third the Chinatown idea - I missed the crawl where you guys did Chinatown.

What about the area from the Exploratorium compound up to the Golden Gate bridge? I was down there a month or so ago, and the beaches were full of people and dogs running around, there were some fantastic panoramic views, and then closer to the Golden Gate there were those nifty batteries/bunkers.

Gipsy- uhm well, we have done exactly that route before ... not that that's a major problem ...

Emma- not a bad idea and we could do some Golden Gate sketches ... uhm ...

Uhm ... did I mention I am wishywashy ?

keep your ideas and/or votes coming ...

I'm new to the sketchcrawl and am really excited about joining in. I'd love it if the starting spot is somewhat near a BART station. I'd also like to know the timeframe and any other information about how it works, groundrules, etc. Thanks!

we are probably gonna meet around 11 am ...
the way it works is simple we just walk around and draw ... we usually give meeting points every couple of hours ... so people can split up, draw what they want and then meet up again ... around 5 or 6pm we'll reconvene to a last meeting point and just share our sketches from the day ...

we'll figure out the details once we know where we're heading ...

I'm up for Chinatown too - there's all that Street Car stuff on California street, and that nifty Cathedral just a little ways away.

I've been digging Yerba Buena Gardens as a drawing spot lately. It's a short walk through Union Square from Chinatown and, ya know... Beard Papas.

i like the yerba buena idea. i was just there friday. lots of people and fun stuff to sketch. i also like the idea of wandering the mission--fog has come back into the weather--so going to the sunny spots might be more fun. there is dolores park, the cathedral and mission in one area, and lots of good places to eat!! of course, i could say that about anywhere in SF...

uhm, maybe we could make a downtown crawl then, some could split toward Chinatown and some toward Yerba Buena ... I'd also like to hang around the Moma, the lobby of the museum is really neat ...
maybe we could meet around Yerba buena gardens or Union square ...
