Vancouver BC or WA? If it's WA maybe you can join forces with Portland or come on down to Corvallis.

vancouver sketch crawl

Post by Sidewalk »

Hello,
We will be participating in the sketchcrawl but only for a limited time as I have an art class that day. Our plan is to sketch in the vicinity of Granville Island from about 8:00 to 9:30 & then maybe after class at 3:30 pm join "Sketching in the Street" with Basic Inquiry (Life drawing)

I think the idea of Gastown & Chinatown sounds great but we will not be able to join you. Maybe we can share our results online. Have fun!

Forgot to mention that we will be meeting tommorow at Blenz. ( On the corner of Granville and Nelson, Granville skytrain is closest to the location) to discuss our experinces and hopefully implement some more Sketch Crawls.

Time: 10:30 am - 11:00 am.

I would like to do one every month.

Vancouver Sketchcrawl Results

Post by Sidewalk »

We got an early start & managed to get in a couple of hours of sketching before class. Unfortunately we didn't manage to connect with anyone else (maybe next time). Anyway, it was really fun & great to see all the sketches posted.

Here are some of both our sketches. Most are from the Granville Island area in Vancouver, B.C.

Thanks for your encouragement! This was our first SketchCrawl, and we had a lot of fun doing it. We've really been enjoying seeing your sketches, and all of the sketches from around the world.

Here's a post from Razor that I copy here (for some reason I can't move the whole thing):
>>>>>>>>>>

A few links of what we've done in Vancouver, BC for our Sketch Crawl and some sketch sessions.

Some of more sessions:

I did all the primary pen drawings on the Envolpes, from really loose to semi-tight. Then the group when to town, putting their touches on the envolpes.

As for the Sketch Crawls, we are planning on doing about one a month, due to the creative process.

I will be downtown this Saturaday (Oct 21, 2006) to do another solo Sketch Crawl, around 11:00 am. I plan on going to Stanley Park or Chinatown.
