I've been inspired by this site for some time and was looking forward to the upcoming Sketchcrawl. I didn't see any posts from Portland so I went out by myself. I only made it for a few hours because I wasn't feeling well. It was a lot of fun though and I plan to make a habit of sketching daily.

Here are a couple sketches I did yesterday. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Thanks for starting this thing, Enrico!

Great work. I love Portland and you've captured her so well.

Hope you are doing well, and have power - just heard the City and environs got hit hard.

Thanks Paintmonster, Zoe, Oliver and Enrico. I've really been enjoying sketching since I came across Enrico and Russell Stutler's websites. I've always wanted to do more painting on site, but hated the thought of dragging a lot of stuff around with me. On Enrico's and Russel's sites, I discovered the waterbrush and Moleskine sketchbook. I've been sketching pretty regularly over the last couple of months and look forward to continuing.

Paintmonster, I forgot that Sapporo was our sister city. That reminds me that we have a great Japanese Garden in Portland that would be a good place to go for the next crawl.

Zoe - We did have a really nasty wind and rain storm a couple of days ago. Lots of trees down. I was lucky, our power stayed on. Thanks for your concern.

Yes!!! I Love Bridges! Very nice drawings. I've never been to Portland, but I keep bugging my husband for a Pacific Northwest Trip. All the way up to Canada! Someday it'll happen. When it does I'll make sure I have my sketchbook!!! Keep on drawing! CM

Glad you survived the storm.

I posted on another Portland thread asking if folks were going to try for 12-1/2. I might be in Portland on or near the date proposed.

I'm planning on doing it but, as I understand it, it's not really a group thing this time. Just draw around home. Am I wrong?

Haven't seen any other recent posts from Portland folks.

Thanks. I am planning to either fly out 29 January or earlier. If I make it for 12-1/2, I'll just sketch crawl around the City before I head up North.

Happy New Year.
