I have just returned from the Sydney sketchcrawl. 5 of us had a great morning and captured some Sydney icons. The day ended in a rain shower and promises to do it all again.

My first contribution to the album is this picture of a well known Sydney site that is celebrating its 75th birthday this weekend.

Hi, I was one of the 5 to participate in this Sydney Sketchcrawl. It started off humid and sunny and ended up humid and very rainy.
I'll try to add my 3 drawings here and to the Sketchcrawl pool at Flickr.
It was a great day and lovely to meet Alissa and Robyn.
Cheers
Janine

OK, have no idea how to add my drawings here so I'll just add them to the Flickr site!

Hi all, I looked at everyone's sketches on flicker. My husband is from Melbourne, so he recognized all of the sketches and said they were good. I liked them as well, but it gave him fond memories.

Hasn't your hubby told you about the rivalry between Sydney and Melbourne :D ? I hope he enjoys the sketches. We had fun making them.

It seems that even people who seem to be sitting still move lots. They move even faster when they cotton on to the idea that someone might be sketching them. The lady with the funny headdress and no legs was selling balloons for charity.

The first page is one of my warmup effort. The digeridoo player was far enough away that people kept moving between me and he. The second page is a big blow up bear that advertises a Childrens' Hospital fund raising day when we all buy little bears with bandaged paws.

Here is my first attempt to scan and send sketches to the forum. It has taken me all night to figure out how to do it - and here they are. Sketchcrawl Sydney was a great day and certainly provided us with a fantastic opportunity to get out there and draw and meet other sketchcrawlers.

Image an Australian icon. Fun to draw from any angle

Image Robyn's mocha - we stayed for about 1 1/2 hours at a cafe tryng to capture all the action.

... on the great sketches and on conquering the complexities of the forum. The Sydney group is tops!

Thanks for your initiative in getting us motivated.
