Is anyone from BA doing the Nov 4th Sketch Crawl, and if so, where do we meet?

BA -- Mountain View?

Post by judielaine »

I'd be interested in a Sketch Crawl on the peninsula and would be happy to nominate my town. On Sunday, Mountain View has a farmers market in the morning and has an active downtown street (Castro, with seating) with a train station on one end and at the other the arts complex, town hall, library and parks.

I'm not free until 1 or 1:30 on Sunday.

Hey Chris, I have no idea what you looked like, but I was totally blown away by your sketchbook when it was going around the table at that crawl! It'll be awesome to see it again.

Flyers

Post by Gerald »

Hi,

How's everyone been :?: Any ideas for a flyer to post and hand out? I'd like to post
some flyers up at a couple of figure drawing classes (off Bryant St.) and at CCA.

Thanks :D

I haven't been to a Bay Area sketchcrawl in a while! Although Mountain View sounds cool, it might be hard to get there and back by public transportation.

I vote for somewhere in the east bay this time.

Edit: Seems like a lot of good stuff's happening on Nov. 4th! The East Bay Humane Society's also having an art auction called Purr-casso on the same day. Ah well!

Mountain View is pretty convenient to Cal Train, the markets and Castro street are all very close to the train. I'd be happy to crawl in either location, I seem to wind up out of town every time new one hits!

There's also nothing to say that there couldn't be a SF and a MV crawl. :)

I was at the 14th but missed the past Sketchcrawl and I'm really looking forward to this one. But as a broke student I've got to vote to have it in San Francisco proper -_-

Edit: East Bay is cool too - it's just that Caltrain's a bit much.

I would also like to put in a vote for an East Bay Sketchcrawl this time, primarily because of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society's Purrcasso event being held that day. I have some artwork in th show and the only way that I would be able to make it to both events would be if they are relatively close to one another. (And it would also be nice if some crawlers could come by the show and check out the artwork!)

Woo!!!

I just moved to town, and I was looking for how to find local artist meeting type things. I'm totally going to this. How do I find it??

Also- anyone help me find good life drawing classes? I'm at Mission & 16th.

I'm all for an east bay crawl! There was a Berkeley one a couple crawls ago, mostly on campus... a walk I've done is Shattuck up to the Rose Garden, which takes you past a lot of really awesome-looking houses, and then you end up with a beautiful view from the rose garden.

It might be a little too far from anything, though.

Purrcasso is also a ways from any BART stops..?

:?: Howdy,
Just learned about this, it sounds fantastic...I'm trying to work it so it doesn't conflict with something else that day...when do you plan to begin and go 'til?
Also, I'm only on public transport, and I'd be coming from SF, so I appreciate anything near BART...
