New Scribbler joins from Kiwi land...New Zealand

Post by The Wrist »

Hi all pencil lovers!

I'm a New Zealander (a Kiwi) living in Auckland with my family (4 kids)
I work in the advertising industry and have in Australia, Asia & briefy in USA, as an art director making TV ads & print for 25 yrs...ahem...not as young as I used to be...but I changed to my first love-drawing-I started in the ad world as a storyboard artist and so I work still in the ad industry...but as a storyboard artist/illustrator and fine artist. So I've kinda come full circle as it were-back to where I started-a passion for drawing.

I use a tablet at work for drawing-very short deadlines & lots of script changes! Love drawing, painting all sorts of drawing styles. I paint in acrylic-too impatient to wait for oils to dry...love watercolour, pencils etc....looking forward to this! Any other Kiwis here?

Here's some of my work: http://www.art-for-arts-sake.co.nz/
and some ads but my drawing is my love...as u can see I change my style a lot...I keep trying stuff I see...can't help it so I'm hoping drawing in the 'raw' as it were will bring me back to MY style!
Painting is a source of endless pleasure, but also of great anguish. (Balthus)

... that wish surely might come true ;-)

It's a real good experiment and will become a regular treat easily - esp. if you are about to "crawl" with some fellow sketchers!

All the best,
Thorsten (aka Peter Pen)
