Four of us met at Cafe 1923 in Hamtramck and decided to carpool down to the Riverwalk celebration going on downtown that same day. Lots of people, dogs, cotton candy and sketching opportunities to be had.

On the old-fashioned carousel, instead of wooden horses you could ride statues of Michigan wildlife.


It started raining about 2:30 and we got soaked. we all walked over to Greektown for lunch and more good coffee

Matt - A good cup of coffee (and a sketch) is a fine way to start the sketchcrawl! Nice sketch of the view across to Canada. Good people sketches!!! I see you did a carousel too...the one I did didn't have trout, but we found a few fun animals for a carousel. Nice coffee sketch to end the day. Sorry the rain cut things short for you.

I'd just finished sketching this fire boat when they started up the hoses.

Looks like you were fascinated with "faces in the crowd", Matt. I like your trout on the carousel. The carousel that we sketched didn't have a trout, but it did have a cat with a fish in its mouth. I never got around to sketching that one though.

Sean, good job on the cars and that fire boat. The fire boat looks like it was fun to sketch.
