Sketchcrawling with the Nintendo DS

Post by enb »

Hi- I stepped out for a day of sketching with "Colors" on my Nintendo DS. Great little setup for sketchcrawling- Enjoy and thanks for checking out my little journal here on the sketchcrawl forum...

Image
Quick one out my window- looks like a great day for sketch crawling!

Coffee and news paper reading at lucky 13. And sketching!

Image
On the train on the way to the Met.

Image
Here I am at the Met at the top of the Grand Staircase. I love that green war painting way at the top and into the gallery...

Image
A quick Sargent head. Love being reminded how head and shoulders above the rest he stood...

Image
I got ahead of myself and forgot to jot down who exactly painted this...

Image
Sucha great Boogs they have there- this is one of two I believe that are at the Met. He really was an amazing story teller...

Image
Monet, although not my favorite, shows how much of a Master he was when you try and capture what he was doing- fantastic huge paintings...

Image
One more Monet study...

Image
Much more powerful of a sculpture than my humble sketch can describe.

Image
Couple nice Courbets here.

Image
Another one...

one more Courbet.

Image
Waiting for the train at the 86th street station on my way to DFNYC

Image
Back to Double Fine NYC office for coffee break wind down and more sketching- here my man Bages hard at work.

Image
Brief stop at the Hudson river to catch the setting sun.

Image
Then over to meet Katie for some shopping at Bergdorffs

One more shopping stop at Bloomingdales before going home...

Ahh, finally back home....

Super powerful tool.
I think the new DS is being released in Japan with bigger dual pressure sensitive screens (?). I think there's also a camera. Im too dense to realize what exact implications this will make for- but- with colors, and other programs like animanatee ( www.ds-scene.net/?s=viewtopic&nid=4095 ),
and even the famous KORG MS-10 Synthesizer ( http://gizmodo.com/367199/korg-ds+10-tu ... ynthesizer )
You can have a ultra portable wifi enabled digital studio for less than $200.

If I was a little kid with that kind of access....
The future of entertainment will be very, very bright.
