So - where shall we all crawl? Or am I missing the right thread? My suggestions would be Cathedral Hill/Japantown, or maybe as someone else suggested, the Mission.

Cathedral Hill has blocks and blocks of various nifty Churches and Cathedrals for the architecturally inclined, and Japantown has good snacks and dangerous-to-your-wallet stationary & book stores. Of course, I might also suggest these because I am lazy and I live near them
