I am in a workshop right now with some sketchers, so I hope to see some of you, if not all, on January 10.
All of you newbies, please join the sketchcrawl forum so that you may post suggestions and your work after the crawl. It is easy to join and it is free.
Let's start the discussion for a location for January. Hopefully, it won't be too cold.
I'll start--
Zoo
Downtown
Tubac
Let's have some more....................

Re: Tucson AZ USA
I like your ideas Donna. I would also like something indoors just in case the weather is an issue.
Tucson Mall
Public Library - this can be combined with your Downtown idea

Hi Donna. I just joined, and am really hyped up about the 2009 SketchCrawl! How about the Old Tucson Artisans as the location? There are fountains, plants, cute little shop entrances to draw...and just outside are uniquely Tucsonian streets and views. There's a rest room available, protected from traffic, lots to drink/eat, and chairs if needed.
I'm looking forward to meeting you. Linda from your Desert Museum Art Institute class this past weekend told me about SketchCrawl and your local role.

Well, that is a great suggestion and it offers shelter if it is cold. Thanks. And most importantly, welcome to the group.

Re: Tucson AZ USA
Hi, I'd like to attend the next sketch crawl. I was going to suggest the Tucson Botanical Gardens as there are a lot of beautiful things to draw and paint there.
Re: Tucson AZ USA
Also a good suggestion--look forward to your participation, welcome!
Re: Tucson AZ USA
Just for everyone's info--when considering a location, I try to think of a place that offers a mix of things to draw--ie, architecture, people, landscapes etc, so that there is something for everyone's favorite subject--also to give a sense to the world of what Tucson is all about--so keep those good suggestions coming!

Sketchcrawl details:
9:30 AM Meet at Bruegger's Bakery @ 1 W. Congress (corner of Congress & Stone)
We can sketch downtown, Old Town Artisans, El Presidio neighborhood, Tucson Museum of Art (inside if cold) etc. These locations offer lots of variety.
We will meet back at Bruegger's at 3:30 to share sketchbooks. You are on your own for lunch, but there are lots of places to eat--Old Town Artisans, TMA has a good cafe, several places around downtown plus you can brown bag of course.
You do NOT have to plug meters on Saturdays.
Looking forward to seeing old friends, plus hoping to meet some new friends.

Donna,
Am looking for information on where the 2009 Tucson Sketchcrawl might be this weekend. Sorry, I'm a little lost here as it is my first post. Look forward to joining everyone!
