Vienna, Austria [RESULTS]

Post by m9fred »

Around 9:45 we met at a shopping mall near Staatsoper and had some hot chocolate in a coffee shop first. There we spent more time on talking than sketching till 11:30. Three of our small group had to do some shopping or preparations for skiing holidays and I decided to do some more sketches on my way home.
It was a bright and sunny day but freezing cold (-7°C or 19.4°F). Sketching with gloves was not impossible but applying water to my watercolor pencils resulted in a small amount of colored ice at the tip of my waterbrush immediately after a single stroke in my sketchbook therefore I added some color at home.

I'm not good at sketching people.

Old quarter around Ulrichsplatz and lantern and tree in a park nearby.

I will post the works of the other sketchers as soon as i get their scans.

Great drawings, both of you!
I particularly find it amusing that you both had similar subject matter. I also like the outdoor pictures and your little account of frostbrush. I didn't get my water brush out so I couldn't test how fast the water freezes on the page. Thanks for sharing!
