Reading People make good Models
Greetings!
Sketch Crawl 21 is gone but not forgotten. The weather was not very conducive to drawing, thus we had to look for a place indoors, preferably with heating. The bookstores here in Germany are generous with their reading space, allowing customers to read in comfort on big cushy couches. We visited Hugendubel in the Potsdamer Platz shopping center and packed out our sketchbooks, ready to doodle any literature-loving victim unfortunate enough to stumble into our field of vision.

It's a great feeling reading the reader, as they pore over the books, I couldn't help but to smile as the subject broke into a grin at some passage hidden to me.

I could have stayed there all day. But alas, my companions craved coffee!

Later on we made our way over to Dussmann in the hope of capturing more unsuspecting scholars, but there was nowhere to sit, therefore we bade one other farewell and went our separate ways.
Later on I took up pen and paper once more at a party and started drawing people there.

Wonderful individual faces, a bookstore seems to be a perfect place for sketching people.
Have you used red chalk or sepia in your sketches?

Thanks Manfred,
I was using Prismalo aqurelle pencils from Caran D'ache. The scans look slightly redder than the original sketches, and yes! I can only recommend drawing in a bookstore/library. Most people are so engrossed in literature that they're the perfect victims for an onslaught of sketchery. :}
