Let me put in a plug for ChinaTown, North Beach. I recently did a photowalk there with a bunch of out-of-towners and a few locals too. It was great, one reason being that so many people there were just going about their business and took only mild notice of the crew w. cameras hanging off their necks. Busy is good. It allows a certain degree of anonimity and there is soooooo much to see. Plus coffee in North Beach ( I'll check the exact place ) is great.
This will be good fun.

Ok IT's OFFICIAL! The poll is closed ... and CHINATOWN it is!!!
And I think we should keep the 2nd and 3rd choices for the next crawls, that way we have a hood already predetermined.
So ok, next saturday let's all meet at the park right above the parking lot on kearny street ... it's called Portsmouth Square. Let's meet at 10:30am.

The plan will simply be spread around chinatown and little italy ... follow your nose and enjoy the day.
We'll meet for the end of crawl sketchbook sharing at the same spot at 4:30pm.

Just wondering if people bring watercolors along on the day. I usually add color in the cozy comfort of my own studio rather than try to juggle, water, brushes and onlookers in the street. What do y'all do?

I use a small travel palette and a waterbrush from dick blick
http://www.dickblick.com/products/niji-waterbrush/. Go to the University Store. While the one in Oakland might have them now, they've been out of stock the last couple of times I looked.
And this person had a great idea if you've got some Sculpey or something similar lying around.

Looks like I am either taking the Golden Gate Transit bus from Santa Rosa, or maybe the Ferry. Anybody from Sonoma County using these methods of transportation that would like to go together?

I'm going to try to come in from Oakland... for those of you who can get to a BART station, Montgomery St Station is about six blocks away from the parking lot! Easy 10 minute walk to and from.
