New York City, NY

Post by Alisa »

February will still be cold, so somewhere indoors would be best. I haven't been to the Met for a while. Any other thoughts?

Hi, I'm Mary and new to SketchCrawl. The Met is a good idea but I was thinking of a more unusual spot --
The Wintergarden at Battery Park City, IKEA in Brooklyn (big space and nice views), Grand Central Station,
Just a couple of other ideas....Let me know what you think.

It turns out that I'm attending comic convention on this day, so I'll be drawing there, but not with the group. :( Hope you guys have fun! The Wintergarden is beautiful outside, I've never been inside.

The Met sounds good to me, too. The lobby is usually pretty packed on weekends and it may be a bit cold to meet on the steps outside.

How about the 2nd floor balcony that overlooks the main lobby/entrance as a meeting point?

The Winter Garden would be great too, though. People watching, architecture, NYC skyline. Either place is fine with me.

I'm less familiar with the Winter Garden though. Does anyone know a good meeting spot there?

Hey,
My name is Audrey and I am also new with Sketchcrawl. In fact I'm pretty new to NYC. : )

I've never heard or been to Wintergardens, and if that is a garden indoors, I vote for that first!

I also always wanted to go to Grand Center station and draw there, so that's my second choice.

I'm excited to meet you all and fill up my sketch book!

I'm up for the Winter Garden. I believe it's part of a shopping center...so there should be plenty of people to draw along with the foliage. Maybe we should just pick a store to meet in front of?

How about 10 AM in the viciinity of the Banana Republic? According to the map that's right by the Winter Garden.
