Phoenix, AZ USA - [Results]

Post by crgcas »

Great Day! We had 12 or so crawlers, met some awesome new (& talented) people and I had SO much fun sketching today. We went to the Desert Botanical Garden and tried to stay in the shade as much as possible (it was 93 degrees F here). I have six to post and am scanning now and shold be finished after dinner sometime tonight but have some iphone shots in the meantime. Looking forward to everyone's sketches!

Addendum: My scans didn't look any better than the photos other than better perspective so I am going to stick with these. Forgot to paint the mountain in the last sketch and might re-post that one.

It was nice having the companionship of singing birds, lizards, and the occasional rabbit while sketching.

It was so awesome to see everyone's sketches! Scans just never do them justice - Mossgate: those really came out great - I love the pallate you added! Would love to see a higher resolution shot - there was such great detail on those! Annie: Again, I love these! Three mediums in one morning! Thanks for bringing another crowd out to SketchCrawl!! Cindy: These looked great last time I saw them but adding the darker areas really made a difference! Look forward to seeing you all in a few months!

PS: Thanks for the pencil Mossgate - I took it for a test drive yesterday and love it!

Wonderful result from Phoenix
I love desert plants and buildings' style so much.
crgcas - These are brilliant!!!! How happy I am to see them! I also love the banner too. really great design, I miss Arizona.

ChaosInColor - Your pastel drawing has the feel of dryness and heat! Lovely.

Mossgate - Lovely palette, great idea! These botanical drawings and the sculpture are awesome.

DiBlasi - Both drawings are terrific! Feel the power of the Cactus.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I just now saw Mossgate's ebony pallet, how cool is that! I am inspired by all this work to try new things.

Until next time!
