Strange this 27 ^ Sketchcrawl. Weather was inclement and indecent. Cold and rain like that, in the middle of May, we would have not really expect. So we were only two from Latina. Me (Luciano) and Davide. But despite bad weather, we went to Terracina, a town southbound with a really nice old historical centre. At Terracina raining a bit 'less. But the sky was gray and water coming down in buckets. We arrive in the historic Piazza del Duomo, where in addition to the Dome, there are ruins of a Roman temple and a stretch of paving the ancient Appian Way. And the first thing .... cappuccino and brioches! , ^)
Then look for a place to draw, but it begins to rain slightly. And there are virtually no covered places to stay.
We try to go to the Church of the Holy Souls, where it could be possible draw inside. But contrary what Gianna (our Terracinna's host) thought, church is closed. Nothing to do so. So, we bring us back to the Piazza del Duomo. We seek a spot under scaffolding for renovation of a building next to the cathedral, borrowing chairs from the bar. Finally we start to draw, but the rain increased. Slowly begins to drip from the scaffolding above us ... on our sheets!! Until we can no longer stand there, so we pack all ... and below all you can see.
Hoping next Sketchcrawl in July, will be better.

I'm sorry the weather was not better for you on Saturday, but I'm glad to see you sketched something. Watercolors are hard to do in the rain.

Next sketchcrawl in the desert ? there is still much to invent as watercolor that works under the rain. Great sketches anyway. Bravo

@joan T> yes, it's hard especially if you have big drops falling over the sketchbook every minute !!

These came out great despite the rain! Speaking from experience though, the desert has it's own challenges with watercolor - you can never do a wash because the paper dries before you can reach for the next color!

Very valiant efforts and they paid off well. Nice sketches of rain. I like.
