On my way home with 4 or 5 sketches after a rare soggy Phoenix crawl at the Heard museum. I'll post sketches in a few and am looking forward to seeing everyone else's!!!

So we had a soggy, steamy rainy day in Phoenix. It was great being able to be outside at the Heard a few times but my ballpoint ink would not dry so I fought with the watercolors a bit and ended up with some weird colors and tones.

The Heard museum is a Native American museum filled with great artifacts, Katrina dolls and some wild artwork, carvings, etc. I got lost a few times wandering through the labyrinthine exhibit halls and didn’t’ find the best carvings until John and Annie pointed it out on my way out the door.

I had a blast as always – thanks for the company everyone, look forward to seeing you all again at the next one!

My five year old son added his contribution: a sketch of himself and his dear old dad :)

Then some photos from today. So sorry I didn't remember to get shots of the sketchers this time!

You chose to draw a lot of the same topics that grabbed my attention! I love the masks, katsinas, and funky animals. I'm glad your son joined in too. :-)

Here's my work for the day:

Annie, Crgcas and the rest of the Phoenix area Sketchcrawlers,
Nice Job! I love the drawings of the masks and Kachina figures. I need to check out that museum next time I'm in Phoenix (probably this Fall). I can see why you all wanted to sketch there.
Not to brag, but it was nice and cool here in Prescott, only about 73 degrees even in the afternoon, and that's unusual even for here this time of year. It rained until about 2pm, and was cloudy the rest of the day. I was solo, sketching in and around the Courthouse Square.
I will post my drawings Monday, as I am exhausted and need to get up early for work tomorrow.
Great job everyone, and I hope to meet you one of these days.
Cheers,
RndmPrecsn

Hey John, you can use the URLs of the images that you uploaded on the Sketchy Doodle site.

For everyone else, here's the link to our local gallery page for Sketchcrawl:

Thanks Annie - took me a while but finally figured the simple trick - "... right click on the picture and get the properties...."

Awesome sketches Annie & John! Is anyone else posting?

RndmPrecsn: Hope you still post yours. Maybe we can connect here or up there for the next one.

Annie: Thanks again for the case. I have started working on it!!

See you all at the next one!

What a fabulous place to sketch on a rainy day. I like those interesting artifacts.
Very beautiful sketches from all of you!
I haven't known that Phoenix is famous for sketching snakes  (like the nice detail on your sketchcrawl-poster).
