Los Angeles, California, USA

Post by SreudianFlip »

Haven't seen a post for Angelenos yet. I have a few ideas:

⁃ Malibu Beer Festival @ Malibu Pier
⁃ Descansos Gardens
⁃ Old Town Clairmont (metrolink from union station takes you right there :) )
⁃ Trails Cafe in Griffith Park
⁃ Union Station environs (Phillipes, Olvera St., etc)
⁃ Hollywood & Highland
⁃ Rodeo Drive
⁃ Santa Monica Pier/Muscle Beach
⁃ Venice Beach

I live in Long Beach on the Metro line.
Old Town Claremont would be fun.
I can do October.
Looking forward to meeting LA sketchers.

I usually help coordinate Los Angeles sketchcrawls but will be away to San Diego for Comic-Con this time. All the suggestions cgaffordart mentioned sounds great - in addition to Claremont, Union Station and Hollywood & Highland are accessible by Metro from Long Beach.

Please have fun sketching in LA for me, I'll be sketching in San Diego!

Hello!
I am actually interested in sketching some of these locations from the film "Blade Runner".

If someone is interested in joining me I would me more than happy.
I am making an actual map to set up a tour.

Best,

David

I had a great time a week or so ago at the San Pedro's artwalk, "First Thursdays". Food trucks everywhere with long lines.
I didn't have a sketchbook on me, shame, but what a great idea--there were a lot of people everywhere to sketch.
As they say, "If you build a food truck, they will come".
On the 23rd Exposition Park is having a foodtruck/cinema event http://ocffreservoirdogs.eventbrite.com/ outdoors at 5:30pm and is near the Natural History Museum which also just opened a great exhibit, "The Dinosaur Hall".
I digg the Blade Runn'r thing:
  • Take a subway to Union Station
    Image
    Then to the Bradbury Bldg.
    Image
Walk to the Bonaventure (minus the flying cars)
    Image
Maybe take in Grand Central Market
    Image
& then onto Exposition Park for Food trucks and
    Image
    Dinosaurs
    Image

Oh, sounds fun - enjoy the LA sketchcrawl for me! SreudianFlip, Bonaventure and Exposition Park have not been sketchcrawled yet - it'll be cool to see what kind of things you'll see and draw there!
