I have to admit, I had to look up Yeppoon on Google.. but yep I found it in Queensland and it looks like a beautiful place.
You might be right about sketching alone unless you can round up some locals. Have you thought of making this a family thing and encouraging parents and kids.
You would be surprised what the kids come up with and they enjoy it. You may also find some artist buddies amongst the parents.

You will be surprised though, how much sketching you can get done when flying solo though.
Just have some fun. Sketchcrawling is all about focusing on drawing/painting for the day and relaxing. The sharing with your local group is nice but secondary.

I look forward to seeing your postings when you have finished.
