Had a nice visit with one of my students as we sketched in a couple of coffee shops here in Moscow. After a week of crazy winter weather, and way too much shoveling of snow and slush, it was fun to relax and draw a little. We were both trying out our new Moleskine A4 watercolor sketchbooks. The first one here was done with a Copic Multiliner SP pen, "Wine" is the name of the color. The second is watercolor over some graphite. I'm not too happy with the scans, so I might need to re-scan or photograph these at some point. Hope everyone around the world had another great SketchCrawl, I look forward to seeing all the results!
Cheers,
Matt

'Wine' color drawing looks nice and the watercolor sketch looks great too.

Re: Moscow, ID, USA - [RESULTS]
This is my first sketchcrawl and I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks for the invite or heads up Matt! In my first sketch, I did a small set of smaller scale, more focused sketches to get warmed up. I used a 4B pencil in the sketchbooks Matt and I both tried out today (Moleskine A4). In the other two sketches I just focused on one sketch per page and used my favorite ink pen, the Precise V5 Extra Fine in black ink. I had to photograph these and the color seems off, so I would like to follow Matt's own advice to himself and rescan them as well.
I am happy to be sketching after a long time, however I am not overly proud of these. I'm just glad I actually showed up for this sketchcrawl and am excited for the next one!

Great work Matt! That looks like a very cozy coffee shop. Love the bold quality of your watercolors. Working big must suit you.

Matt - I love the sketch in the wine ink...it has a certain feel to it. Nice job on the interiors of the coffee shops. Wish the other sketches were showing!
