Wichita area sketchers--and one sketcher who traveled several hours from Tonganoxie, Kansas, to draw with us--met at Bluebird Arthouse. Bluebird Arthouse is a wonderful, independent artist supply store that opened last year. The new store is located in an historic part of Wichita called Delano. In the 1870s, real cowboys roamed the streets of Delano and the area had a reputation for rowdiness. Present-day Delano offered interesting subjects for sketchers.
Bluebird Arthouse has big. clear windows that allowed us to sketch the scene across the street where you can find a bakery cafe, an antique store, a pool hall, and a tattoo parlor.

Nice to see old and new friends at the Wichita sketchcrawl. We are very grateful to Bluebird Arthouse for welcoming us, and we look forward to visiting Bertie, the shop cat, again soon.
