Hi Dave! Looks like you all had a good day in Vancouver. I adore your sketches of the statues. What fun they are.

Sketching the laughing statues as material for the Artist Trading Cards was a clever move. Good show, guys.

@gaelwriter
Thanks.. I was trying to do a quick set of ATC's. My first attempts at ATC's. They were supposed to be kind of cheesie and crude but colorful so I thought each different statue pose would work to create a set.
I was also going to try postcards too but I was not feeling well so did not get a chance to try.
I was not particularly happy with my sketching that day. I usually like to sketch people but was too tired to get off my butt and move around :lol:

I do like to experiment with new ways, things and ideas on these sketchcrawls. Maybe on the next crawl I'll try doing a comic strip :think: :problem: :shifty:

The really great thing about the " Laughing Statues" is that they don't move. But the best thing of all is watching visitors with them. I have seen some really strange things people do to them, from giving them handbags, applying wigs and even grabbing their backsides. People are not afraid to touch this $1.5. Million set of artwork.

Thanks for visiting

Great sketches here! It seems nice day for SketchCrawling.
And I'm interested in the Artist Trading Cards.
Anyway, thanks for sharing!

Hi Cyber Dave,
Just thought you'd be chuffed; our Tally member Mary has been recirculating your sketches from previous Vancouver results; she especially liked your serruptitious sketches of your group from WWSC 35--and wants to do that here. Funny she had no idea we had been in contact!

Dave - it sounds like you had a big group there! Pity I missed you all.
The ATC sounds like a great idea!

It's really interesting - so many people come up for a chat when you sketch! I really like that part of sketching.

Thanks mark - the shadow was made up to make it look more interesting!
