Today was the worst day as far as I remembered in my outdoor painting. Windy, rainy, cold.... But new comer, Lee Mi-na, made all of us delighted. She came from Daegu city located nearly 300 km far from Seoul by KTX train to participate in this sketchcrawl in spite of bad weather. We were glad to meet her and hoped to come as often as she could. She would send her nice drawings with colored pencil for posting. We couldn't sketch much though the Bukchon Hanok Village was very beautiful in Spring. Welcome and thank you all!

Sketching took place at place called "Bukchon Village" where there are a lot of Korean traditional houses,
"Hanok".
It reminded me of my old days since I used to live in
"Hanok".
It was raining, windy and cold but I had a good time with people who showed up.

Bukchon Hanok Village where traditional Korean houses called hanok form a group, which encompasses Gahoe-dong, Hwa-dong, Jae-dong, and Samcheong-dong in Jongno-gu. This village has been a traditional residential district for more than 600 years of the history of Seoul. The day for the 35th World Wide SketchCrawl, we faced up to an unexpected difficulty. The stormy weather went on all day. In spite of the wet conditions, we had a pleasant sketch time enjoying cultural walks around Bukchon Village. Bukchon particularly, is my birthplace where I was born. While sketching some familiar sceneries lasted a long time, many memories of my childhood were brought back in rapid succession.

I agree with JJ
Totally awesome sketches
I particularly liked seeing the one labelled "a scenery harmonized...." - that whole set is super cool
Cheers

Dear B H Yoo and friends:
Great to see your art as always...despite the difficult weather. And Lee Mina's determination to travel to participate. Here, we had heavy rain after months of drought! Lightning ended the attempt, although we got some drawings before that...
...and Archiartist Lee's hometown! captures the mood of the weather with a sense of nostalgia!

Hi B H Yoo:
Last year we watched the Korean Historic Drama "Painter in the Wind"--many episodes, beautiful scenery, art and architecture plus very interesting story. Do you recommend any other Korean Historic Drama series?

Gorgeous work by everyone; you certainly didn't let the weather hinder you! Rich, dark saturated colors by bh yoo, bright, distinctive work by jung.kyyoungwon, an amazing amount of wonderful art by archiartist, and a distinctive style of work by Hwang. Bravo to all.
