Fredericksburg, VA USA <RESULTS>

Post by Raudy »

Four of us met up at the coffee shop and spent the morning sketching in downtown Fredericksburg. It started out sunny but soon dark clouds rolled in. We all worked on the same corner of Princess Anne and George Streets but sketched different views.
Here are the 3 sketches I made:

This is a little building tucked in behind some larger ones across the street from the coffee shop. I liked my new Stillman & Birn sketchbook but it did wrinkle a bit. I was working with a lot of water. Raudy

Lovely sketches, Raudy! It was great to see you again and spend time sketching with you and the others. Here are a couple of my sketches from the day:

This is a closer view of the detail on the steeple of St. George's church. I was interested in the different angles on the steeple roof itself.

I just loved the brickwork in front of the church where I was sat sketching for a long while (in the shade, thankfully!), so I had to sketch it!

Carole, love your work. Those steeple angles are challenging and I love the bricks, especially the colors you used.
