Barcelona,Spain-Results

On this occasion Barcelona was the host to the UrbanSketchers Symposium, so there were a lot of sketchers in town these days. I could only make it very late Saturday afternoon, giving me just 2 hours to sketch around the Parc de la Cuitadella and Passeig de Luis Companys, which were at the end of the planned route for the Sketchcrawl.

After sketching in the park I headed up towards Passeig de Luis Companys where a group of buskers started to perform and attracted a large crowd. I was out of practice and felt I just couldn't draw fast enough at this piont.

It's always a pleasure to come to Barcelona sketchcrawls.
In Santa María del Mar, a gentle touch on the shoulder woke me up to tell me that the church was being closed. I had eaten my time in an unpredictable nap. After this, a good walk, searching the shades of The Citadel, taken by colleagues and amazed tourists and a "trionfante" ending.

Soy Kumi, de Japon! Yo estaba en Barcelona por eso yo dibujé aqui esta vez

I was participating 4th Urban Sketching Symposium held in Barcelona, therefore,I sketchcrawled in Barcelona this time. I went to Güell park and sketched some.

Last one, I met 2 sketchers drawing this site. I was so interested in the style a girl came from NY was doing with dip pen, so I mimic something her style sat side by side.

I also attended the Symposium - so while I normally join the Sketchcrawl in Washington, D.C., this time I sketched in Barcelona. I joined the group in Parc de la Ciutadella in the afternoon:



I then headed up to the meeting point at the Arc de Triomf, where a huge crowd of sketchers gathered:

I usually Sketchcrawl in Los Angeles. This time I was attending Urban Sketching Symposium, so here I was in Barcelona!
I started the sketch on site and finished painting at home - I tried painting directly without pen or pencil drawing. It was a struggle but well worth it!
