Seoul, Korea

Post by bh yoo »

Hi sketchers!

We plan to sketch around the Daehangno (University street) in Jongno-gu, Seoul. There locate lots of famous buildings along the street.
The street name was originated by the location of Seoul National University which moved to Sinrim-dong near Gwanag mountain.
And the area was reborn into park (Marronnier Park) for public. Several cultural buildings such as Arko Art Center, museum were built around the park.
Korean National Open University locates next to the park. Recently Hongik University Daehangno Campus has located nearby.
Original Seoul National University Hospital is there across the Daehangno street.
Though we may not have enough time for sketching the Changdeokgung (palace) across the hospital, we can say the street bears Korean cultural, historical and scholastic atmosphere.
Hope participants to enjoy and capture all of them as far as they feel and share!
Please visit Seoul Urban Sketchers noted below to see the information on that sketchcrawl day.

Thank you!

Last Sunday, Seoul Urbansketchers gathered at Marronnier Park.
Many University is located near by this place.
If you would come here, you could meet many young people and artists. Also, you can feel dynamic energy.

Wonderful energy in those sketches: the colorful washes over fine line work, charcoal sketches, the casual feel. I especially liked Ham's architectural sketch.

hello, sketchers.
Maronie Park is a symbolic place of youthfulness.
there are a lot of theaters, trendy cafes & steet performers.
With old trees, small houses & narrow alleys.

Hi BH Yoo and Seoul Sketchcrawlers!
Sorry so late checking in. Had some travel/illness/job changes to get through. All is fine now.
I am glad to see your group's sketching! Our favorites today? quick people sketches and the first unfinished Marionner building
