We had a small turnout today in D.C. - perhaps in part because it was cool and somewhat grey, but that did not deter all of us. Christian and I met in the morning at Meridian Hill Park in NW DC. The park features a large fountain that cascades down several levels, as well as a monument to President James Buchanan. I started with the Buchanan Memorial, since I've sketched the fountain before:
But then I couldn't resist sketching the fountain anyway:
We then headed over to Adams Morgan for lunch, and found a Starbucks with outdoor seating (and warm drinks) where we had a nice view of 18th street:
At that point we called it a day. But it looks like there is another group that is going to go sketching in Meridian Hill Park tomorrow - hopefully they'll get sunnier weather.

Great sketches Joel! Glad you got to go out. It was pretty ugly here today too. Paula

I wasn't nearly as prolific as Joel, but I got a little something done at Meridian Hill Park.
