This time Seoul sketchers went to Paju city located at the northward of Seoul. By the location of the place between north and south Korea it is expected as the capital of unified Korea in the future. So we planned to sketch the place, English Village for its attractive features of foreign villages.

The weather was extremely fine! Though the Gyeonggi English Village locates at Paju city which takes over one hour to arrive at from Seoul, eight sketchers participated in. The village was far better than I expected in scale, quiet atmosphere, and beautiful buildings in rows. The village was established for the purpose of experiencing to speak English or else as living in English using countries by Gyeonggi province on April 3rd, 2006 secondly following the first English Village at Ahnsan City opened on Aug. 23, 2004. And the third one was opened on March 2008 at Yangpyeong. There are various kinds of programs for kids, students, or businessmen, etc.
We enjoyed all the beautiful scenery and spring season sketching here and there.
Thank you all!

Participants : YH Lee, KS Song, BO Koo, KH Kim, JH Han, HI Moon, YS Yun, BH Yoo

English Village is a place with a good circumstance where students and users can use English spontaneously. By the western style buildings and the foreigners whom visitors can meet often people feel easy to speak English as if they were in Europe.

Last Saturday, It was very fine and clear weather to sketch outdoors. In celebration of the 47th World Wide SketchCrawl, we usk Seoul members met at Gyeonggi English Village in Paju City close to Seoul. As soon as I entered the village through castle shaped gate, a new world of fantastic atmosphere with beautiful buildings and diverse performances impressed me.
The street is lined on each side with the typical western style buildings where English programs are conducted, with the the restaurants and convenience stores drawing the interested visitors and tourists. All facilities have been newly built to simulate a village in an English-speaking country. Students can learn English by enjoying a cultural experience in an exotic environment. Though it is located near urban areas for easy access, it is a suburban English village in harmony with its surrounding natural environment. We enjoyed an exciting sketch time across the fantastic village in the outskirts of Seoul.

The place was very good to sketch like parks with unusual western style buildings.
All of us liked the scenery. It may be one of the sketching places we may go next time.

Thank you very much for all of your kind comments!   :D
