My 47th World Wide SketchCrawl began on the NYC Subway sketching some of the commuters.
The NYC Urban Sketchers met in front of the new Whitney Museum on Gansvoort Street in downtown Manhattan. Our plan was to sketch the Whitney Museum and then continue sketching in the Meatpacking District. It was a wide area to sketch so it was hard to tell how many sketchers were participating. I know there were at least 15 of us.
It was a cold, and windy morning, so I found a spot to tuck myself in a corner out of the wind. Here is my sketch of the Whitney Museum.
Next I moved around the corner where it was sunny and the wind wasn't such a problem. This is the Gansvoort Street entrance to Highline Park.
After a break for lunch it was a bit warmer and we found a sunny area with good views. This is a sketch of one of the restaurants.
My final sketch of the day was of several of my fellow sketchers...Mark, Michael, and Mike.
