It is mid-October 2012 in Ottawa, Canada's national capital. Temperature: about 10 to 15 C. Rainy, dull, windy, blah. But that's no excuse. A few blocks away from my downtown condo, which overlooks the Rideau Canal - see my amateurish pic- , there are hundreds of sketching opportunities. For example, nearby Parliament Hill has about a dozen major statues - which are perfect models 'cos they don't move - well, at least not when I am looking at them. And I was sitting in a cafe in St. Laurent Shopping Center this a.m. and noticed the dozens of people taking the escalator - perfect subjects for rapid sketching. The next big sketch here will be the skaters on the canal - whoopeeee, I am looking forward to that. (Gee whiz, I hope this first posting works okay.
See you sketching, ta ta.
