Here's my sketch of the bridge behind Nieuwmarkt. I still smell the peculiar blend of fish and other market products while standing there...

We had our first sketchcrawl in Amsterdam (in the Netherlands in fact I think), and enjoyed it a lot! It was a great group! There were six of us; Maria, Josette, Kim, Jacob, Femke and me (Ayal). It really is a lot of fun, walking around and sketching, taking breaks and looking at eachothers work.

In short, we went from central station to Nieuwmarkt, sketched there, had a cup of coffee, and when it seemed to start to rain we went to the public library to sketch there, and we ended the day there.

Mattianelli, wow, great drawings!!! I need to draw more carefully, and add stronger contrast, like you do. Good stuff! What was the size of your sketchbook?

We missed you at the contact point, so we walked past VVV also, but didn't find you (nobody responded to me waving a sketchbook ). Pity we missed you, hope you'll be able to join next time Kim, Maria and Josette are from The Hague, and we thought it would be nice to go to different cities each time.

aah, amsterdam! what a wonderful city with all its people and scenery, what great options for sketching material! great stuff everyone and i enjoyed the photos as well. wish i could have joined you. i love amsterdam and the dutch people are so friendly!
