(Above) Budding artist Kailey joined the worldwide sketchcrawl at Oconee State Park, SC where Tallahassean Mark served as Artist in Residence for the park service. These are works in progress; it was necessary to take a break for lunch and swimming. Look forward to the finished works to be posted on the worldwide sketchcrawl page later.
Nice coincidence that we were at Oconee, SC on world wide sketchrawl day!
(Below) Here are a few more sketches by Mark Fletcher from Oconee State Park:
(above) CCC 1930s fireplace in Shelter 1 where many people including State Park Staff have been married
(above) the old CCC waterwheel installed in the new reconstruction site. The old waterwheel site with original stonework is an easy hike on a wonderful forest path
(above)the lower section of Hidden Falls (the Falls are too high and have too many special features to draw it all in one picture!)
(above) the upper section of Hidden Falls; peaceful and cool
If you get the chance, you should stay at the Oconee State Park for a few days--there is so much to do and enjoy.
Thanks again to the South Carolina State Parks for choosing me to serve as Artist-In Residence!
