Seeing Beautiful in the Ordinary

At Hampton Court, England yesterday - went to sketch in the palace itself - I didn't expect to be struck by a simple sundial in the grounds outside the cafe while having something for breakfast. What amazed me was the light was really flat and it was such a drizzly, wet, cold day - yet this sundial looked amazing ... to me. I found I wanted to sketch it to help others see it's beauty and to find beauty in the ordinary, every day, overlooked stuff of life. ---- will post this sketch once I've had a chance to scan it in.
