I'm really hoping that we'll have a nice sunny day for this next SketchCrawl in July. What I'm thinking is possibly a nice park area with a lot of variety of things/people to draw. Anyone have any suggestions? There are a lot of places in SF, but I always like hearing the new spots people come up with.

I'm going to try to get up to SF for this one. I'd suggest Fisherman's Wharf, but I'm open to other places. Plenty of interesting stuff to draw around the city.
I run a small drawing group in Santa Barbara.
I've also been keeping a sketchbook thread on ConceptArt.org

What about working our way from one end of Golden Gate Park to the other?
Re: San Francisco, CA
How about the Dolores Park area? There's quite a variety of subject matter there - vistas of the Mission and beyond, people lounging, children's playground, dogs, houses, restaurants/cafes...

- Chinatown
- FishermanWharf
- De Young and Golden Gate Park

- Japan Town/Pacific Heights down to Palace of Fine Arts
- The mission
- The Dog Patch

The Yerba Buena Gardens Festival is hosting a performance of the Axis Dance company with live music at 1:00, 1:50 and 2:40. We could sketch the dancers, the musicians and the people watching them.

Re: San Francisco, CA
I will be there this week but will have to fly home to Houston too early on Saturday to participate. If I'm lucky I'll get in a sketch or two in the morning at Muir Woods. Wherever you meet, I hope you all have a great time. And please share your work. I love San Francisco. You live in a great place.

Hey. First-time poster here. I wasn't even aware of this event until I happened to see Mr. Casarosa's tweet about it. I really like this concept, and although I have a little nervousness about drawing in public, this seems like the best possible way to break through that.
So I know this is probably the #1 question newbies ask, but -- once a place/time is decided, can I just show up? Do I need to sign up anywhere?

nervous to sketch in public - you will get over it specially if you do it often.Ben77 wrote:Hey. First-time poster here. Re: San Francisco, CA
When was the last time we sketched at Fisherman's Wharf?
There is so much there and places to sit.
Lots of color and activity.

I'm new to this. But I would love to participate. I vote for the mission.
Re: San Francisco, CA
Just returned from Paris, just in time for SketchCrawl SF!!!! I'm in, looks like from the poll it's Ferry Building/Yerba Buena Gardens. I don't' see a 10am meeting spot or 4 pm meet up spot listed - anyone have info?
Re: San Francisco, CA
Okkei! Sorry for the delay, but indeed democracy deems that we'll crawl at the Ferry Building then head toward the Yerba Buena Gardens ...
Let's do this:
10:30am meet by the SpaceRocket to the right of the Ferry Building.
4:30pm sketchbook share in front of SAMOVAR in the Yerba Buena Gardens!
Cool?
Spread the word!
See you there!
