FIRENZE, Italy [Results]
Hi all!
This time we decided to go sketching at the market of Sant'Ambrogio, an old traditional market placed in the city centre.
For my first sketch I decided to portray Osvaldo's butcher's stand. Being a Saturday morning, it was crowded with people who were there to buy meat for weekend meals:

Then, after a hot cup of coffee with Rita, a young sketcher who I met yesterday for the first time, I decided to face the cold and damp weather and together with Rita we went outside, below the iron roofing surrounding the market structure, where we sketched the colourful stands selling fruit and vegetables:

These are beautiful! I love the soft colours. What materials did you use?

de superbes couleurs bravo!
Re: FIRENZE, Italy [Results]
Waiting for others to go sketching...
Now we're inside the market...it's almost colder than outside, because of all the fridges X___X
Then we decided to go somewhere else, somewhere where there is no 0° O___O
Oblateeee!!!
Anyway, it's very VERY near the Duomo so I spent much of the time outside, drawing Florence's roofs...and freezing.
With people passing behind me and saying 'oooh, look...with this cold...Ah, I could never do that'
hahaha so funny....-__-
At the end I was REALLY freezing so I went inside too and draw some ceiling and friends
Re: FIRENZE, Italy [Results]
Congratulations on braving the cold and sketching outdoors a bit.
Lucia - Your watercolors are lovely. I really like your soft colors. Nicely done!
Gyrard - Your sketches of the rooftops are great!!! Wonderful sketches of the people too.

Wonderful sketches, Gyrard89!!! I like both the way you portray people and architecture!
To Dandelion: I used Neocolor water-soluble wax pencils by Caran D'Ache, very good to obtain bright colours quickly!

Thanks everybody! :3
I enjoy soooo much these moments spent outside drawing....most because I've no idea of how to draw most of the things I find around me!
:p I was used to draw only pictures taken from my imagination :p
Hope to keep getting better and better :3

Hi everybody!
I’m afraid that my sketches are not as good as everyone else’s, but oh well! I tried to concentrate more on the freshness of the movements or the meaning of their poses. That’s why I use only a simple pencil and the cheapest paper
This was my second sketchcrawl, even if I try to go out and sketch as much as possible, but in the last months I didn’t do much… winter hates my hands
Anyway! These are my works:
“Drinking coffee with eternal satisfaction”
“The butches that smiles while waving a knife in his hand”
“View from the coldest corner of the market (I had an open door right behind me)”
“The tenderness of the hale old men”
“Mr-Iron-Legs-who-is-capable-of-staying-in-an-impossible-position-for-waaay-too-long”
“The place where some people read… others sleep”

I like your sketches, Eugenio, you've made a great work! It's not easy at all portraying people with such a great accuracy in reproducing their gestures and poses! In comparison to yours, my characters seem frozen like statues!

Hello everyone in Florence. I will be in Italy for the next couple of months. I am definitely looking to meet up for sketch crawls in Tuscany. I will be living in Siena and I have friends in Florence so I will travel. Hopefully I get to meet and draw with some of you. Please feel free to email me: rgperedo@gmail.com or to look at my blogs: http://www.redgreenandpurple.blogspot.com, http://www.theblacksketchbooksociety.tumblr.com
Parlo l'Italiano abbastanza bene, sono visuto gia una volta in Italia. Mi piacerebbe molto potere conoscere altri pittori e artisti che piacciono dipingere e disegnare fuori. Grazie mille.
