San Francisco, CA USA [Results]
Greetings from San Francisco! It was a bit windy and cold during the Crawl, but fun nevertheless. Here's my contribution. I hope to see some more from others soon. There is some great stuff. Don't be shy!

Nice work San Fran!

Lovely work jdryden! I enjoyed seeing your sketchbook on saturday, beautiful work to see in person, very powerful. Some great sketchers out in the Castro, got very windy by the Dolores Park meeting though!
Re: San Francisco, CA USA [Results]
Here are my sketches from the day:
1: Sketching on the Amtrak train with fellow Davis sketchers Alison and Allan:
2: Allan sketching outside Philz Coffee on 18th St:
3: Houses on 18th St. Wow, what a row of Victorians this was, such character. I was going to carry on the whole thing but it was taking too long as it was. I coloured the purple tree and the sky, but added most of the colour later on.
4: Castro Street panorama. I loved sketching this, such an excellent scene, a sketcher's dream.
5: Car spotted on Castro Street. I actually only got the outline, some details and the license plate, before it drove away. I finished it off later on at home. When sketching a parked car, always take a quick pic first (or even better, pay the meter so he stays there longer)
6: Moby Dick's on 18th. Another one where I did all the pen on site but added colour when I got home. I did get the paints out to colour it in from my nice spot on the sidewalk, but boy it was getting windy, and my little waterjar kept blowing over. Next time, remember clips for my sketchbook pages and blu-tak to hold the water jar steady (or just use the waterbrush) ...
7: Finally, a rusty fire hydrant! After this, there was the final 4pm meet up in the crowded but super windy Dolores Park. Fun to meet many new sketchers! Hope to sketch in the city again soon.

Jdryden -- love your brushwork, these are very lively.
I had a great time along Sanchez. I went into Imagiknit, a fantastic yarn store. I was trying out my new brown/black Uniball Signo with watercolor, loved it. We traveled down with Pete from Davis.

Beautiful work Jackson and Pete and everyone! Looks like you had a good day. Sorry I couldn't meet with you guys this time. I went to Mendocino instead where I sketched all day, documenting the firing of an old-style wood-fire pottery kiln.
Check out my report in the Mendocino CA USA [Results] topic.
See you all next time!
