Seattle, WA, USA - [Results]
Great turnout today. We met at the famous tourist attraction in Seattle, Pikes Place Market.
I arrived late, so I only got two sketches in. First is the corner market, across the street from the famous landmark:
And here is a balloon man, who was sitting just outside the fish market. He was wearing a hat made of balloons, and was draped in fish net and lobster shells.

My first Sketchcrawl was good medicine: my sketchbook had been put away for months! Great to meet so many people and see such incredible drawings! I am in awe of the talent that was (and will be -- hint! hint!) on display. Here's mine, from inside the market:
After drawing this, I looked down at the tiles inscribed with names, and realize I had been standing next to the tile of my next-door neighbor from 20 years ago! Seattle really IS a small town.

Hey Jing, we met back at Starbucks at 3 p.m. Perhaps the word didn't get around to you
It was great seeing you and meeting so many other people for the first time. Love the sketch of the guy with the guitar by the way.
It was also fun talking about micron pens, brushes and sketchbooks. And we got perfect weather. A great sketchcrawl indeed!
Here are the two moley spreads I did:

I had a great time on this Sketch Crawl...Thanks to Joanna for letting me know!
Re: Seattle, WA, USA - [Results]
Here's how I spent my day...the viaduct and market before lunch, and the ferry afterward. Was thoroughly inspiring to be out with the group! Thanks for arranging the San Diego weather.

Finally I think I've figured out how to link these sketches. I love seeing all of yours, and those from around the world as well.
I have taken out my photos because they came out too big!
If someone can tell me how to make them show up smaller I will be grateful.

Tyler, nice colors on the flowers.
Joanna, I really like your style. I like all the carefully observed, delicate details. Even with all the tiny details, the overall composition is clear and uncluttered. I wish you would post more from Saturday.
Jin, good use of depth. I like the guy in back with the coffee cup. Very expressive.
Gabi, I agree with the guy in the lower right corner: you *are* da man. We both drew the corner market, but you capture its character in so few lines. Thanks for including the larger size images, too. It's fun to read your captions.
Finishtag – a feast of color!
Melanzane – These are great. I like you use the fill colors with a minimum of pen lines, and how the pen lines have varying weights. Great clouds.
Beth – Two completely different styles here and both work. Lots of depth in your pencil sketch, and the economy of line in the second is very artful. And thanks for the photo!
I'm still hoping Chandler will post.
See you all in January, I hope.

Good Morning Beth - you asked about making images smaller. From the Board index, choose "Help and FAQ forum", then "How to share images" for instructions on reducing image size using Flickr. Very helpful. Here's the link: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=2832. btw - love the free-flowing color!
