Nelson here, from the big apple reporting a great day of crawling and sketching.
Washington Square Park, where we meet up.
After lunch, our second destination: Tompkins Square Park.
Ultra hip dude with fur collared leather jacket.
This breakdancer was aweomse with the windmills. They gathered a circle around us and we were dead center of the action. Great place to draw from- Union Square.
Alisa and Cynthea at Union Square.[/img]
And finally, just a hodge podge of people i tried to draw throughout the day. Sketching people on the fly is tough stuff.
I met cool people and had loads of fun, all the while getting some practice.I cannot wait for the next sketchcrawl and I cannot wait to see all the other great drawings.

Ha, beat me to it Nelson! I love your park sketches, they came out great!
Sketchcrawl starting from the north: 238th St 1 train station in the Bronx!
Drawing on the A train from 168th St. station, still waking up.
Arrived a little late, but Kenly, Denise and Radamas were patient.
Washington Square Park watercolor.
After most of our group arrived and sketched we headed to St. Marks Place for lunch at a Chinese restaurant.
A hodgepodge page from Tompkins Square Park after lunch.
We refuel with coffee at Whole Foods Union Square. Sara and Allan drawing.
Nelson and Jeanne as the temperature drops a bit in Union Square.
We move indoors to Barnes and Noble bookstore on Union Sq north.
We had great sketching weather today in New York City. There were about 15 artists in our group throughout the day. Thanks for coming out guys! It was great to see familiar faces and to meet some new sketchers, can't wait to see more drawings from everyone. I'll be posting my photos of the day as well.

Washington Square Park. L to R: Radamas, Kenly, Evan, Denise, Allan, Alison in the middle.
Chinese food for lunch at St. Marks Place.
Happy squishy cat.
Our table of sketchers: Nelson, Cynthea, Sara, Kenly, Allan, Meaghan, Christi, Alison (coordinating the family style food orders), and Evan
The prettiest dish (and supposedly the tastiest.)
We walked to Tompkins Square Park after lunch and were greeted by giant kettle corns.
The squirrels were very chunky from all the free kettle corn being given out.
A bench full of sketchers: L to R: Jeanne, Allan, Evan, Missy, Nelson, Christi, Sara.
Nelson guards Cynthea from over-curious bystanders.
Still sketching: Jeanne, Alisa, Allan, Evan, Missy, Nelson, Christi, Sara
Preparing to head to Union Square, don't forget the kettle corn!
A rather creepy puppet show was going on at the edge of Tompkins park.

Alisa,
It looks like you had a successful day. Again sorry I wasn't able to get to the city. Non the less I had a great sketch crawl in New Jersey. I like your water color studies. You did very well getting allot in.
Nels,
I like your first two drawings of Washington Square park, especially the second one. Thank you for drawing something outside of the normal view(s) of the Square, there are so many small vignettes within the park.
