Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (RESULTS)
Hi all,
Here are the results of my day. We met at the fountains of KLCC and adjourned to the outdoors 'pool' area where many kids and parents were enjoying the cool 'showers' and 'waterfalls'. It was a very hot day; I wished I had my togs with me. We broke for lunch after about 2 hours. Our sketchcrawl almost suffered an early end when we wandered into Kinokuniya (a fantastic bookstore). We knew once we got in there, we might never come out again. There were too many cool art books in there! Luckily we had the strength to drag ourselves out again, and our sketchcrawl continued at Starbucks 'cause the thought of going into the heat of the day was too daunting
I started with some pen work:
And then I found the most interesting tool in Sandra's stash of materials: a portable watercolour pen!! This is my new favourite tool.
Great day! But too hot!

Hey Chan, was hoping to see you at the London sketchcrawl, but I guess I now know why that wasn't possible! Your pen work is as stunning as always, interesting how you seem to have increased the 'contrast' levels on these compared to the last sketchcrawl which gives them an even more stylised look. Good variety of styles in this set too with you discovering that watercolour brush, and it's enojoyable watching you have fun with it and experimenting as you rack up the pages!

very interesting figure strokes and the soft quality of your new toys,, keep it up and congrats...

Thanks guys for all the wonderful comments. Come back and check out the other participants' sketches. I'll try and prompt the shy ones to post.

Wonderful pen works. And the watercolor brush pen results are very nice. I also like mom and her child, their mood was well captured.
