On Saturday I did a solo crawl locally here on Long Island. Right now the farmers' markets are a fun place to sketch so that is where I headed. This one was located in Sayville, NY. All the vendors were really cooperative, so my thanks to all of them.
My first sketch was done of a vendor who sold vegetables and cheeses. I tasted the cheeses and they were great!

I'm sorry but I can't seem to get these to upload here except as links.
I sketched another venor who was selling bread.

Then I moved on to someone selling flowers. I sketched two of her containers of bouquets.

By that time it was too hot to sit there and sketch so I headed to the pool. After cooling off a bit I sketched a few of the kids on the steps of the pool.

Bravo Joan for your solo sketchcrawl, I love your results full of life and summer colors !
Re: Long Island, NY (Results)
Hi Joan, Thanks for your good words on our Oslo results. Love expecially your vedgetable vendor with glowing vedgetables!
I see why your pictures are not coming up. Go to "edit" and remove the extra[img]at the beginning of each link. You somehow have 3 of these instead of the needed two. Do you see what I mean?

Great job Joan!!! Sorry I couldn't join you this time. You chose a great location for the crawl and I know the venders love having sketchers there... just wish this summer has been a little cooler.

Hi Joan! Thanks for your comments on our Lausanne site. Your sketches are really beautiful too. It's a pity you were alone on this day: next time come to Switzerland, we've got good cheese too

Hi Joan, Great color and line! Glad you went out--sometimes it's hard to get going solo.
I bet your sketches were enhanced by your "sense of taste" (good cheese! )
Anyway, thanks for checking out our posts; just uploaded some new ones...sorry for the delay in responding.
