San Francisco - USA
yeah i was thinking Marina or Presidio like Amelia suggested, but Marina/Ghirardelli would be cool, I have never actually been there (just drive by it). Any inexpensive parking around there?
hmm paint with chocolate - (or coffee)
btw, check this video now this is some coffee art.

Okay, so if we are doing something in the Marina district, I found this parking garage :
http://maps.google.com/maps?client=fire ... 13&iwloc=A
Looks like it would take forever to find parking on the streets, or so I've read. From this map it looks like it might take 10 to 20 minutes to walk to the Marina, but I looked all over for parking garages online, and this was the closest one I could find. Anyone know of one closer to our destination, if we're still interested in doing this area?
Anyone know of a cool coffee place around here too?

I'm looking over a map of the Marina and Fisherman's wharf...and I'm actually hoping someone might know of a parking garage a little closer to Fisherman's wharf... The one I mentioned would just require more walking than sketching. It'd be quicker to get to the Marina, but I realized that I'd probably rather see more things at Fisherman's, like those old ships. I think I've sort of been blending those two locations together...But I guess if I really wanted to draw those ships and other things around Fisherman's I could do it on my own sometime too!
Anyways, it really doesn't matter where we end up. There will be things to draw, no matter where we go!

I noticed Ghirardelli Square has a parking lot but its $2.25 every 20mins yikes, so I figured it would be $30 just for parking.

I know there is parking by Pier39 but It has been many years since I last parked overthere so I don't know how expensive it will be.

Like 20 years ago, I took bart to the city and then muni to Fisherman's Wharf. It was pretty easy. We just got off at the Embarcadero station and walked until we found a bus stop.

Has a bit of info on this.
While it's a bit more of a hassle than driving (I hate driving in the city), it's a lot less expensive to do the public transportation thing unless you're carpooling or bringing a ton of baby stuff.

How when where
So it's 11am by the fountain in Girardelli sq. I'm new - don't know the rules.
no rules
There's no real rules, its very informal - bring your drawing stuff and tuck in for the whole day, or part of the day! Generally, people meet up, sign in with Enrico and then go their merry way. Frequently those who last the whole day will meet up again at the end to swap sketchbooks and stories.
SketchCrawl
Hey guys,
I think sketching by the Marina would be really fun! Hope to see you guys at the upcoming SketchCrawl!
