Wow - 10 people this time!! The Phoenix group is growing fast! How awesome to meet all of the new AZ crawlers! This was my first visit to the Botanical Garden and I was blown away - it is huge, beautiful and we were greatly outnumbered by all of the other artists there. There were folks set up everywhere with easels, watercolors, oils, etc. A very new experience for me. This place was huge and full of things I have never seen before.
More sketches and photos to follow - I know Aurora got some good group shots too. There were some excellent handmade sketchbooks represented at this event. Thanks again everyone - it was great meeting you all.

-- dear Fran, thanks for joining in, we'd love to see everyone post their images here, so that we can see them right away.
Maybe it's possible for you to copy yours over here, too.

Thanks PaintMonster!
Ok, here are the first four - can anyone recommend a good scanner? I am getting a new one before the next crawl. I'll post photos and some more sketches tomorrow.
Edit: Added a fifth (the building and tall yucca) from our trip out of the garden. I'll try to repace with better scans if I can pull it off.

Had a great time
I had a great time meeting everyone today! I will be back 'crawling' again for sure and plan to go back to the Garden really soon! Here are my two sketches done today. I also have some photographs on my blog at:http://arttvsionz.blogspot.com
Now I'm following the directions to post my photos here but I don't think it's working! I'm not so computer savvy! If I can't figure it out, they are also on my blog! Sorry! Hey! It's a miracle! I did it! Fran, I know you are giving me a standing ovation... and if the rest of you knew me so well, you'd know why I'm getting a standing ovation for actually following WRITTEN instructions! OK, so where's my prize?

Today was a perfect day for a Sketchcrawl at the Desert Botanical Gardens! I was so happy to sketch with new and old friends. I don't have a scanner so I had to take pictures of my sketches with my camera. Here's hoping that I understood the flickr posting directions...
Below is a nice bench near the cafe:
This next one was a wonderfully shady seating area with a cooling fountain:
This is a sort of abstract painting of wildflowers in bloom:
The next one isn't a sketch but it is the most beautiful hummingbird photo I've ever managed to take so I wanted to share:

Thanks Donam!!
Ok, here are a few photos, we took a ton and it is hard to pick favorites. If you are interested in a few more you may click here to see them on my site. I think we spent 80% of the time walking around taking it all in and about 20% actually sketching - need to go back there!

Marvellous sketches and great photos, love the hummingbird! Beautiful!
Amazing what a weather you had! Hot and sunny...
Sounds unreal as we had only +4 degrees celsius and snow and almost freezed our fingers off. But it was worth being a part of such a great event!
Thanks for sharing your work everyone!
